Ranbir Kapoor And Katrina Kaif have wonderful chemistry

Bollywood Actor And Actress Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have a natural knack for comedy. A unit hand of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani said, “Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif possess a great sense of humour. The two make jokes at a drop of a hat. Their one-liners can have you in splits. It is this off the set chemistry that has come across on screen too.”

The comic sequences have turned out to be simply hilarious. In fact, the unit could not help control their laughter while the comic scenes were being shot. “Not only Rajkumar Santoshi and Ramesh Taurani, but also the entire crew would break into laughter.”

The unit had become like this one big family. “We had become so attached by the end of it that tears would well up in our eyes when we’d watch Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor do an emotional scene. But we all kept quiet about it,” said the source.

Solid kick start for GHAJINI with ‘Guzarish’

A.R. Rahman and Aamir Khan have done it again. Together they have ensured that GHAJINI gets instant eyeballs, courtesy the track ‘Guzarish‘ which has been the chosen one to kick start the campaign for the film. Boasting of excellent melody, ‘Guzarish’ has been unleashed on all the music channels in a big way and the response has been super strong all over.

What is noticeable is a much younger looking Aamir Khan with the scar on the head gone missing. With a boyish charm to boast, Aamir Khan reminds one of the 90s when he appeared as a romantic lover boy on films like DIL, HUM HAI RAAHI PYAAR KE, DIL HAI KI MAANTA NAHI and many more. As he woos South sensation Asin in some of the most exquisite of locations (captured immensely well by DOP Ravi K. Chandran), Rahman’s brilliant tune ensures that the song makes a place in every music lover’s heart.

Also commendable is the fact that this time around, a tune by Rahman has turned out to be instantly catchy, something which is not the case with most of his tunes that require repeated hearing before making a long lasting impression.

One now looks forward to the release of GHAJINI soundtrack and hope that remainder of the songs in the album are also as good as ‘Guzarish‘, if not better. Now if that indeed turns out to be the case then one can be rest assured that Aamir would indeed have a musical HIT to his name much before the film hits the screen this Christmas.

Salman Khan- Katrina Kaif romance in public

Posted in Bollywood News, Katrina Kaif, Salman Khan on November 10, 2008 by latestbollywoodnewz

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are playing lovers for the first time in upcoming flick, Yuvvraaj though they have acted together in several films.

This is also the time when Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif have gone public with their off screen romance.

Salman and Katrina have decided to go public no matter what the odds. Too much intimacy on screen and off screen may deter family audiences.

On the other hand Katrina believes that an off screen romance will have no impact on the fate of a film as Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor proved in Jab We Met.

So is Salman a romantic person? Surprisingly, Katrina’s answer was,” “ No! He is not romantic at all. He keeps it all for the screen. I want to go on holidays, but he says it’s boring to be alone together. He hates candlelight dinners. He wants his food to be ready on the table when he reaches a restaurant. I think he likes to be surrounded by people. He is so unromantic!”

Does she think he is prince charming? “I don’t believe in Prince Charming. I’m 24, and I’m beginning to accept people’s flaws. Nobody is perfect. But I believe in respect in a relationship, I would like my partner to be able to make me laugh, and I need to trust him. These days, you cannot completely rely on trust. You have to go by your hunch,” she said.

Whatever be Salman’s short comings, Katrina admits that they made an instant connection when they met. The rest is history.

Bollywood News: Kareena Kapoor hates Aishwarya Rai

Posted in Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan, Bollywood News, Kareena Kapoor on November 10, 2008 by latestbollywoodnewz

http://www.ragpre.com/celebrity/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/kareena_kapoor.jpg

Bollywood Queen Kareena Kapoor let slip that she can’t stand the sight, sound and the fragrance of Bollywood Queen Aishwarya Rai.

So why is there no love lost between Kareena and Aishwarya? Now the first thought that flashes in the brain cortex is that Kareena didn’t find it funny when Abhishek Bachchan broke her sister Karishma Kapoor’s heart to begin with. And then along came Aishwarya Rai and became more famous than her. And then she went on to marry Abhishek! That (unmentionable)!

And what do you know, Amitabh Bachchan and wifey Jaya Bachchan rubbed the large grains of salt in by mentioning that Karishma was NOT HOMELY ENOUGH for their likes. Ouch!

It doesn’t help Kareena’s temper that Aishwarya Rai is still the most beautiful woman in the world, and despite being older than Kareena, she is more popular, more bankable and arguably a better actress. And hold on to your eyeballs for this – Kareena Kapoor didn’t turn down a role with Johnny Depp because of date problems, but because of Aishwarya Rai!

What? How?? To answer that, here’s an explanatory quote from from a source, “Three years ago, Gurinder Chadda who offered her this role, wanted Kareena for Bride & Prejudice.

“Kareena naturally presumed it was the lead. She was shocked to know the director actually wanted her to play Aishwarya’s youngest sister’s part for which the lesser know Piya Rai Choudhary was signed later. Bebo was irked at being offered the fourth lead and vowed never to work with her again.

Now when a new Gurinder Chadha film was offered to Kareena she quickly said no without hesitation.”

There you go. I wouldn’t say this was the brightest decision by Kareena. Remember when she said that she would do a Hollywood film only if it is BIG. Well if she thinks a film starring Johnny Depp is a small fry, she’s got another think coming.

Oh and just so you know, Aishwarya Rai’s Hollywood movieThe Pink Panther 2‘ hits theaters next year, with Steve Martin in the lead role.

If Katrina Kaif marries boyfriend Salman Khan, she has to live with his family. But her journey into the Khan family won’t be a catwalk if the latest rumours are to be believed. The news is doing the rounds that Salman’s sister-in-law Malaika Arora Khan is not very fond of Katrina.

It is said that Salman was keen on casting his girlfriend Katrina in his brother Arbaaz Khan’s maiden production venture but Malaika is said to be not convinced. So, Katrina won’t be asked to be part of the film though Salman is playing the lead role in it.

Well, Kat better avoid the fight!

Bollywood News: Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi not just a Simple Love Story?

Posted in Anushka Sharma, shahrukh khan on November 10, 2008 by latestbollywoodnewz

All the speculation that Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi being a clean, simple and fresh love story may not turn out to be true. According to sources in the industry, Rab ne Bana Di Jodi could be a more complex love story than what was initially rumoured. With Anant Narayan now rumored to be the third important character in Rab ne bana di jodi, the story could be a Love Triangle.

Yash Raj Films has always stuck to this super hit formula all these years producing numerous hits with love triangles. Movies like Silsila, Darr, Dil to Pagal Hai etc are just a few of the many. The basic formula could be the same, but Yash Raj treats every story differently in every movie for sure. It would be interesting to see how Rab ne bana di jodi would shape up in the new era of thriller movies.

Rumours in the industry are that Anant Narayan would make his debut in Aditya Chopra’s Magnum opus Rab ne Bana Di jodi. It is also speculated that Aditya Chopra would launch two new comers in his third movie Rab ne Bana Di Jodi.

Since its official that Anushka Sharma is the first debut actor of the movie, it would be interesting to hear from Yash Raj Films about the second actor. Not to forget that Aditya Chopra launched 6 new faces in his last movie Mohabbatein which was one of the biggest hits of that year. How do you feel now that Rab ne bana di jodi has another Hero apart from SRK?

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’s music fails to excite

Posted in Anushka Sharma, Bollywood News, shahrukh khan on November 10, 2008 by latestbollywoodnewz

First Day of Shooting of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

Like most of what the big Bollywood studio does, the script of Yash Raj FilmsRab Ne Bana Do Jodi is classified material, with its top secret contents feeding rumour mills.

And if you believe what those mills have been churning out, the film, starring Shah Rukh Khan and newcomer Anushka Sharma, is about an older man who zings up his married life by undergoing a makeover and participating in a dance contest.

Maybe there is some truth in the leaked story line — which Yash Raj has neither denied nor agreed to — because the music seems to hark back to an older era of tabla and dholaks, but tries to blend in modern sounds.

While the concept sounds interesting and the execution is slick — a given for any Bollywood film these days — it fails to touch you, or excite you enough to get up and start dancing.

Salim-Sulaiman are two of the most underrated music makers in the business, and their previous soundtracks (Chak De!, Iqbal) bear testimony that the duo is not just about ‘background scores’. But with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, they deliver a bunch of songs for which the most charitable adjective you can come up with is ‘interesting’ — in bits.

The first song, Tujhe Mein Rab Dikhta Hai, is sung by Roopkumar Rathod and can be classified as old-school Bollywood. It is reprised as the third-last song again, sung melodiously by Shreya Ghoshal, and it underlines that the music director duo really can treat ballads and slow songs right (remember Maula Mere from Chak De and Ashayein from Iqbal?). Probably the song of the album.

Haule Haule features Sukhwinder Singh and a peppy Indian percussion section underlined by some bumping bass lines and sophisticated keyboard chords. While there is nothing not to like, the song fails to rise above its limitations.

Dance Pe Chance is more of what we expect of Salim-Sulaiman, and its bhangra meets electronica has dance floor potential. That’s about it.

Phir Milenge Chalte Chaltey, sung by Sonu Nigam , has a collage of old Bollywood songs thrown into the mix, and while it is well put together, it doesn’t really have too much repeat value. In the context of the movie, one suspects, it would make better sense. You can almost see SRK doing his take on some iconic songs of yesteryears, which is all that our ‘tradition’ seems to be about in the new millennium, when even an animated film about dogs has Bollywood heroes mimicked.

The album sign-off is Dancing Jodi again could give happy feet more reason to smile on dance floors or wedding sangeets. You can visualise the jodi dancing, yes, but repeat listen? Nah.

The bottom line: Good dance music is infectious — it gets your feet twitching even if you don’t want to. By that yardstick, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi fails.

Bollywood film “Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi” all set for release

Posted in Bollywood News, Esha Kopikkar, Latest Bollywood News, Sonu Sood on November 9, 2008 by latestbollywoodnewz

Bollywood director turned producer Sooraj Barjatya’s film “Ek
Vivaah Aisa Bhi” starring Esha Kopikar and Sonu Sood is slated for Friday (8-11-08) release.

Produced under the banner of Rajshri Productions Private Limited, the name that is synonymous with critically acclaimed and commercially successful films, promises a wholesome family entertainment.

Kaushik Ghatak has directed the film, which stars Sonu Sood, Esha Koppikar, Alok Nath, Smita Jaykar and Srivallabh Vyas.

On the subject of his film Sooraj Barjatya said that the filmEk Vivaah Aisa Bhi” was not a sequel to his earlier film Vivaha.

“It is not a sequel of Vivaha. It is another way of looking at the relationship, which I believe is so beautiful and we have yet not got into the depths of it because a man and a woman I think compliment each other so well. So it is another way of looking at the sanctity of the relationship,” said Barjatya.

Bollywood actor Esha Kopikar who plays the role of ‘Chandini’ said that she did not put in extra effort to enact the role but went with the producer and director of the film.

“To be very honest I did not prepare myself for the role and I completely went with my producer and director Sooraj and Kaushik Ghatak’s vision. I did what they wanted me to do. Yes to a very large extent I can relate myself to the character, I played in the film,” said Esha.

Sonu Sood, who plays the role of ‘Prem’, a carefree prankster who belongs to a rich business family and falls in love with Chandni the minute he sees her, said that songs of the film were so melodious that it became easy to mime them.

“Songs in the movie are sung by Shaan and his voice is so melodious and it was not at all difficult for me to mime the songs. But I think that all the homework which Sooraj ji and Kaushik dada had done really helped me to identify ‘prem’ here,” said Sood.

Ravindra Jain has composed the music of the film and penned the lyrics as well.

Plethora of singers like Shreya Ghosal, Shaan, Suresh Wadkar and Pamela Jain have lent their melodious voice to the songs.

Bollywood News: Path to Bollywood

Television actor Arjun Bijlani insists that he has always been a thorough professional though the media has labelled him a walk-out specialist, says Jyothi Venkatesh

Arjun Bijlani who is playing the lead in the new show Miley Jab Hum Tum on Star One asserts that today he is what he is, thanks to his debut with Left Right Left and not Mohe Rang De and hence he has no qualms for having walked out of Mohe Rang De after shooting for the show.

In fact Arjun says that it was Endomol who are producing Miley Jab Hum Tum who had offered the show first to him when he was acting in Left Right Left even before he had bagged Mohe Rang De. “I declined to be a part of Miley Jab Hum Tum because its launch was delayed and I accepted Mohe Rang De. Luckily for me, the producers approached me again when I was working in Mohe Rang De.”

Why did he walk out of Mohe Rang De? “I was not happy with the way my character in Mohe Rang De was shaping up. When I was offered the role I was told that mine was a parallel lead role, though I realised that in a 1940 period serial, I was just essaying a character. I had even put on weight to get into the skin of my character.
When I accepted Miley Jab Hum Tum, I told the producers of Mohe Rang De that I had taken up yet another show and hence would not like to do two shows at the same time. Though I had signed a one year contract with them, I felt that I deserved better. I did not ditch them at the eleventh hour. I gave them notice.”

Is there any bad blood between him and Deeya and Tony since he had walked out of Left Right Left? “I do not hold any grudge against Deeya and Tony. Nor do they hold any against me. They had even offered me their new show but I could not accept it because I am pre-occupied with Miley Jab Hum Tum. After working for a year in Left Right Left, I did ask for a hike since I was getting just peanuts. Though we had been signed for an exclusive contract, to our chagrin, we realised that our characters did not progress or graduate in any way. We wanted to quit when we were not given a hike. They cast new faces in the show when we refused to renew our contract for the third year, but had to wind the show.”

Arjun insists that he has always been a thorough professional though the media has labelled him a walk out specialist. “Ask any producer with whom I have worked till date. I have always adjusted in terms of dates and done my shows sincerely. If you ask the Mohe Rang De guys, though I had walked out of the show, they will tell you that I had never ever thrown tantrums.”

Arjun is not ready at all to be a part of saas bahu shows. “I do not want to do any saas bahu shows because I prefer to be part of young shows. The fact I is that I want to aim for a career in Bollywood and I do not want to be over exposed as an actor. Once I move onto films, I would never ever come back to TV, because I am using TV as my passport to films and have no qualms to admitting it.”
